Madge Scores 5, Sagrott Steals the Show in Weekend Sweep

STONEY CREEK, ON — The Stoney Creek Tigers solidified their position atop the Allan Cup Hockey standings with a dominant six-point weekend, sweeping a pair of road games against Dundas and St. Catharines.

The weekend was defined by two major storylines: the unstoppable offense of Dylan Madge, who recorded 5 goals and 2 Game Winners over two nights, and a heroic 43-save performance from goaltender Matt Sagrott.

Friday: Madge's Hat Trick Sinks McCoys

The weekend kicked off Friday night in Dundas with an offensive explosion. After a tight 2-1 first period, the Tigers erupted for four goals in the middle frame to pull away, eventually securing an 8-3 victory.

Dylan Madge led the charge with a Hat Trick, scoring in the first, second, and scoring the eventual Game Winning Goal just six minutes into the second period. Cordell James and Mitchell Reid also had multi-goal nights, netting two goals apiece, while defenseman Bo Webster chipped in with a goal and an assist.

Daniel Svedin was steady between the pipes, stopping 33 of 36 shots to earn the win in a game where shots were even at 36 aside.

Final: Stoney Creek 8 - Dundas 3

Saturday: The Sagrott Wall

On Saturday, the Tigers traveled to St. Catharines for a tilt against the Saints. While the offense remained hot, the story of the night was goaltender Matt Sagrott. The Saints outshot the Tigers by a wide margin (45-34), but Sagrott turned in a dazzling performance, stopping 43 of 45 shots to frustrate the home side.

Offensively, Dylan Madge continued his tear, scoring two more goals, including his second Game Winning Goal of the weekend late in the third period. Bo Webster was the primary playmaker, racking up 3 assists, assisting on both of Madge's goals and Paul Geiger's opener.

The game was tight heading into the final frame with Stoney Creek up 2-1, but a three-goal third period—sparked by Madge and capped off by Cole Poliziani—sealed the 5-2 victory.
