Tigers Stay Perfect at Home with Commanding Win Over Cambridge

The Stoney Creek Tigers continued their impressive start to the Allan Cup Hockey season with an 8–3 win over the Cambridge Hornets on Saturday night at Gateway Ice Centre. The victory moves Stoney Creek to 2–0 on home ice to open the season.

Led by a dominant performance from Andrew Whalen, who tallied five points, the Tigers’ offense came alive early and never let up. Bo Webster, Josh Ranalli, Mike Ruberto, Jeff Leaist, Dylan Madge, Dominik Crnogorac, and Josh Pietrantonio also found the scoresheet in a balanced team effort.

The game had no shortage of intensity with both teams trading heavy hits and power plays throughout the night. Despite racking up 63 penalty minutes, the Tigers’ special teams stood tall, killing off key penalties and capitalizing on their own chances to keep momentum firmly in their favour.

Goaltenders Daniel Svedin and Josh Roman combined to stop 35 shots, anchoring a defensive effort that withstood Cambridge’s late push in the third period.

With back-to-back wins to start the season, the Tigers are proving to be a fast, physical club that thrives under pressure. They’ll now travel to Cambridge this Friday for a rematch with the Hornets, looking to extend their unbeaten streak and keep the early-season momentum rolling.
